NorSK

The new semester is about to start, and tomorrow, Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd it’s Market Days at QUT Gardens Point from 11am onwards until roughly 2pm.

NorSK will be there to recruit new members. Memberships are $10 and gives you FREE access to the upcoming pub crawl as well as a membership card with discounts at different venues.

On Wednesday we’ll be at QUT Kelvin Grove at the same hours.

The NorSK International Pub Crawl will be held on the 31st! More details will be announced later on. Last year therer was a huge line registering on the day for the pub crawl, so to avoid this, please register prior to the event. It’ll save both you and us a lot of time

The NorSK Bi-Annual General Meeting is coming up on June 12 at 3pm. Meeting will be held at QUT Gardens Point, room number is A209.

Like every semester all positions are available. These include:

To be on the board you must be a student at QUT. As the President of NorSK you must hold a Norwegian citizenship and have been on the board for a minimum of 1 semester.
Everyone is welcome! You do not need to run for a position if you show up. However to vote and run for positions you must be a NorSK member.

Free pizza will be served!

Being on the board is a great way to meet new people! You’re required to attend weekly meetings and help out at events (even if you’re not leading the event, i.e. be group leader during the pub crawl)

The day all Norwegians are looking forward to is here again!

We will begin the celebrations at Artisans (D-block courtyard at QUT Gardens Point, 2 George St.) at 9.30am.
The day will be celebrated with a parade through the city (flags will be sold beforehand), waffles, sausages, beverages, raffles, speeches, music and games! Here is the program for the day:

09.30am - Flags, raffles and other Norwegian necessities are available for purchase
10.15am - Parade starts
11.00am - Waffles/sausages/beverages sales starts
12.00 - Speech
12.15pm - Nordic Band and Scandinavian Singers
1.00pm - Games
1.45pm - Male Choir
2.00pm - Raffle-draw

We’ll meet up at QUT Gardens Point outside STA Travel/Y-Block at 6.00pm,
where people will still be able to purchase their tickets, and leave for the boat at 6.30pm SHARP!

After docking at 10:30pm there will be an awesome after party at THE FOX!

tomorrow, Wednesday, from 12.30-1.30pm. Price: $25 members, $30 non-members.

Remember, you can still rock up at 6.00pm on May 1 to purchase your ticket!

Sail the night away on Brisbane’s biggest party boat The Island.

April 25 NorSK is heading out to Coffs Harbour and Spot X for a weekend escape surf trip!

This weekend trip includes return transport, 2 nights accommodation, all meals and all surf lessons with equipment plus heaps of fun and awesome beach parties.

Only $245 per person
This is a great deal for NorSK members and will be an awesome trip!

*It is also on the ANZAC Day long weekend so you will have Monday to recover

UPDATE;

A word from mojosurf… The Spot X camp is about 2 hours south of Byron Bay near of Coffs Harbour in Arrawarra. The accommodation is in awesome beachside dorm style cabins in a national park. Our camp is next to a beautiful uncrowded pristine beach. It’s so unique also because we are the only ones coaching down there and people get to see heaps of wildlife like Dolphins, Possums, Wallabies, etc…People also have the possibility of optional activities like kayaking, bush walking, beach volleyball and soccer or just chill and relax on the beach!

The semester 1 2008 NorSK International Pub Crawl is right around the corner!

We’ll start at Port Office Hotel Thursday the 6th of March at 7 pm.
Join us for one of the biggest events this semester and meet old and new friends when we stroll around and check out the best clubs in the city.
